This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the website (hdsok.com) and Service Dashboard provided by Homeland Development Services LLC ("HDS," "we," "us," "our"). This AUP supplements and is incorporated into our Terms of Service and End-User License Agreement.

§ 1. Purpose

This AUP establishes guidelines for acceptable use of HDS services to:

  • Protect the integrity and availability of our systems
  • Ensure a positive experience for all users
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations
  • Prevent abuse, fraud, and harmful activities

This AUP applies to:

  • All users of hdsok.com
  • All users of the Service Dashboard
  • All API integrations and automated access
  • All data transmitted through our services

§ 3. General Conduct Standards

3.1 Legal Compliance

You must comply with all applicable local, state, federal, and international laws when using our services. This includes but is not limited to laws regarding:

  • Data protection and privacy
  • Intellectual property
  • Consumer protection
  • Anti-spam and electronic communications
  • Export controls and sanctions

3.2 Professional Conduct

You agree to use our services in a professional manner and not to engage in conduct that is:

  • Harmful, threatening, or abusive
  • Harassing, defamatory, or libelous
  • Fraudulent or deceptive
  • Discriminatory based on protected characteristics
  • Otherwise inappropriate for a business environment

4.1 Security Violations

You may not:

  • Access or attempt to access systems, accounts, or data without authorization
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features
  • Probe, scan, or test system vulnerabilities without permission
  • Introduce malware, viruses, worms, or other malicious code
  • Launch denial-of-service attacks or flood attacks
  • Intercept, monitor, or modify network communications
  • Use any automated system to extract data without authorization

4.2 System Abuse

You may not:

  • Interfere with or disrupt service availability
  • Place excessive load on our infrastructure
  • Use resources in a manner that degrades service for others
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble our software
  • Modify, adapt, or hack the service
  • Create false identities or impersonate others
  • Share account credentials or allow unauthorized access

4.3 Content Violations

You may not upload, transmit, or store:

  • Unlawful, harmful, or objectionable content
  • Content that infringes intellectual property rights
  • Confidential information without proper authorization
  • Personal data without lawful basis
  • Sexually explicit or exploitative content
  • Content promoting violence, hatred, or discrimination
  • Spam, phishing, or other deceptive communications

4.4 Commercial Restrictions

You may not:

  • Resell or redistribute our services without authorization
  • Use the service for competitive analysis or benchmarking
  • Collect user information for unauthorized marketing
  • Use the service to send unsolicited communications
  • Sublicense or transfer your account to third parties

4.5 Sanctions and Export Controls

You may not use our services:

  • From countries subject to U.S. embargo

HDS may implement rate limits to ensure fair access. You agree to:

  • Respect published API rate limits
  • Implement appropriate retry logic with exponential backoff
  • Not attempt to circumvent rate limiting measures

6.1 Customer Data

When you store data in our services, you are responsible for:

  • Ensuring you have legal authority to store and process such data
  • Complying with applicable data protection laws
  • Implementing appropriate access controls within your organization
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date information

6.2 Personal Information

When processing personal data through our services:

  • Obtain appropriate consent or legal basis
  • Use data only for authorized purposes
  • Implement reasonable security measures
  • Honor data subject requests as required by law

6.3 Confidential Information

Protect confidential information by:

  • Using appropriate classification and access controls

8.2 Enforcement Actions

We may take any of the following actions for AUP violations:

  • Issue warnings or notices
  • Limit or throttle access
  • Suspend services temporarily
  • Remove offending content
  • Terminate accounts permanently
  • Report illegal activities to law enforcement
  • Pursue legal remedies

8.3 Due Process

Except in urgent situations, we will:

  • Attempt to notify you of violations
  • Provide opportunity to address concerns
  • Consider the severity and pattern of violations
  • Apply enforcement proportionally

8.4 Emergency Actions

For severe violations or immediate threats, we may take action without prior notice, including:

  • Immediate service suspension
  • Content removal
  • Account termination
  • Legal referral

If you believe enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by:
